Creed, Colorado
If you are looking for a mountain town to grow old in... this is it. Creed is an old mining town built into the side of a mountain. It has a population of 290 but unlike many rural mountain towns the culture seems to be thriving. The shops were all open during the day, people were out and about visiting with each other and there was even a dad teaching his daughter how to ride a bike. I mean come on! Transforming Our 1995 Chevy G20
In the spring of 2017, Nikki and I bought a van. It's a 1995 Chevy G20 that we found on craigslist for $3,000. It had 55,000 miles on it and the blue interior was in mint condition. I remember showing her the post and before I could ask, she had scheduled an appointment with the owner. We knew immediately that it was the right one so we claimed it as our own. Great San Dunes, Colorado
Blame it on my living under a rock ways but I hadn’t heard of this place until this year when I happened upon a photo of it while I was searching if it was legal to own a camel in the US… I’m kidding, I found it on Pinterest. We rolled in around 10am on a Wednesday. With not much more than a handful of retirees scattered around the parking lot, it felt like we had the place to ourselves. After about twenty minutes of waiting on Alex to find the GoPro… we started the long walk
